As acknowledged, issue that has to be given top priority by a country for the continuance of its existence. Nations have always to watch out for all kinds of internal and external threats, assaults, risks of wars and terrorist actions. This is why they allocate a great part of their official budgets to defense. Armies are provided with the most advanced aircraft, ships, and arms, and the forces of defense are always kept at the highest level of preparedness.

The human body is surrounded by a great number of enemies and threats. These enemies are bacteria, viruses, and similar microscopic organisms. They exist everywhere; in the air we inhale, the water we drink, the food we eat, and the environment in which we live. (selanjutnya…)

This compound, the name of which many people will hear several times during the course of their lives but be unaware of what is actually is, is one of the most important vehicles for human survival.

Nitric oxide (NO) is defined as a colorless, toxic gas obtained from the oxidation of nitrogen. It is a molecule that emerges when a nitrogen atom combines with an oxygen atom.

Intense research over the last 20 years has revealed that this molecule plays a fundamental role in inter-cell communication. Nitric oxide is a hormone naturally manufactured in the human body, in other words, a chemical messenger. It plays a strategic role in the regulation of the vital functions of the nervous, circulatory, defense, respiratory and reproductive systems. One of the places where nitric oxide undertakes this important duty is in our veins. (selanjutnya…)

Suami tiada kemampuan memberi nafkah. Jun 26, 2007

Soalan :
  Assalamualaikum

  Saya ada beberapa persoalan:

Apakah hak isteri disini?.

  2. Keadaan diatas berlarutan sepanjang 3 tahun dan kini memiliki 2 orang anak. Balik kampung pula memerlukan sekurang-kurangnya RM 300. Keadaan ini menyusahkan saya hingga kadang-kadang saya terpaksa berhutang. Salahkan si isteri, jika mengenakan syarat balik kampung suami, suami yang sediakan wang belanja dan balik kampung isteri pula isteri yang keluar belanja? Saya mensyaratkan begini kerana tak sanggup lagi menanggung kos kami sekeluarga dan kos balik kampung kedua-dua pihak. Saya tak mampu.

Terima kasih. Assalammualaikum (selanjutnya…)

Dr. Syed Ali Tawfik Al-Attas/ Md. Asham B. Ahmad
Ketua Pengarah/ Fellow IKIM

Just one year after the tragic events of 9/11 a dialogue was held in Granada, Spain. It was the inaugural meeting which sought to bring together the different ideologies under a programme entitled Dialogues: Islamic World–US–the West. The programme itself was conceived in the aftermath of 9/11 to entertain discussions concerning the relationship between Islam and the West. According to the report, the conference witnessed considerable discussion on what constitutes Islamic authority today. Sadly no answer to the question who speaks for Islam was offered. It is interesting to note that the question was posed in a dialogue where Muslim were invited (either as participants or as paper presenters) as ‘representatives’ of the Muslim World. If they were really qualified they would have realized that question should not have been asked in the first place. On the other hand, if they were not qualified, then they should not have been invited. Therefore, one may conclude that the organizer was either ignorant of who should have been invited to such an important dialogue, or had intentionally invited those who were not qualified!
